Was it a beautiful & easy to get an instant wedding?

Where did u go?

We want to get married in Kauai without alot of expenses. just a beautiful beach ceremony, simple, easy.

Also, we do not want a church or christain ceremony

How much do the weddings run?

Yes! Call Pastor Harold Kilborn ASAP! He’s wonderful! A native Hawaiian, he does wonderful & affordable ceremonies – including on the beach or in a garden. http://homepages.hawaiian.net/zx/Southshore/
he did a vow renewal for me years ago – he even took the pics for us! aloha & congrats!

Anyone know of any texas beaches that would be good for a wedding and honeymoon ?? I know that South Padre Island is beautiful. But everything is really expensive there and its a 9 hour drive from Dallas. Last time I was In Galveston Island it was pretty trashy. Not sure of any other gulf coast cities. looking for some where that has the package weddings. Any advice would be great .. Thanks

What about Corpus or Surfside? I doubt you’ll find the package stuff in TX, but best of luck searching. I think you will have a easier time finding a package Carribean Wedding.

Oh yeah, Horseshoe Bay is georgous. I went this pass June. It’s not far from Dallas either. I stayed at this Resort Marriott. Try the link below:

To have a wedding on the beach, do I have to get a permit? If the ceremony is just on the sand, and I bring out some rental chairs and an arch.

At many beaches you do. Contact the parks and recreation dept in your area to find out what their rules are.

Good and bad experiences will all be considered and APPRECIATED!!!

Thanks
Mom: thank you for your suggestion! that is what we have been doing, but there are not too many listed with reviews and current photos on there; i thought i would use Y!A, too.

My really good friend is getting married next year, so I’ve been doing research around the cost of planning, and the figures are like north of 25K. I want to get married in 2012 if possible (fingers crossed), but the cost of a wedding scares me. How are people able to afford weddings? The cost of the average wedding is higher than the median income in the US. What are good ways to cut costs?

These are all cost-cutting proven, not opinions of how your wedding "should be", FYI :)

Having your wedding in the "off-season" helps tremendously, so avoid May, June, September. Getting married on a Friday or Sunday is a great way to cut costs- I saved $5k just by moving my wedding to a Friday night. Thursdays are even cheaper.

Be sure to ask! You will never get what you don’t ask for! I asked every vendor:

1. Do you discount for my day of the week/time of year?
2. Do you discount based on my location (preferred vendor program)?
3. Can I swap anything out within my package?
(This one worked insanely well for my photographer, I traded my bridal portraits for a 2nd photographer)

REFER! Before you sign the dotted line, get in writing that you want to receive a discount for referrals given. Example: My stationer gives me $5 per referral and 5% off for every booking. It’s adding up! My photographer gives me $100 print credit for every referral, % discount for bookings.

Trade it in. If you have a business or trade skill that you could provide them, they may trade or discount. I am helping my photobooth guy get in to some parties I am planning and helping with his trade video.

Negotiate & strike a deal… The price they offer means they are making a profit. Negotiating down won’t hurt their bottom line. Ask to even out the $3200 price tag on something to "an even $3000". Or, ask them to pay the sales tax?

Have friends and family help set up, assemble favors, tie ribbons, iron table cloths, etc. Having them set everything up can be a strain, so use your facility.

Keep the wedding smaller and more intimate.

Limit booze from a full bar to beer & wine only.

Avoid shrimp an other shellfish/seafood on your menu, they drive up the price.

I really hope this helps! Good luck!

Also, where do I find it? I have been to many weddings but this is my first beach wedding.

Something dressy yet comfortable kind of cocktailish…JCrew, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor and Anthropologie all have some great dress options.

I was wanting to have a beach wedding in Cocoa Beach Florida has anyone used Ultimate Beach weddings to perform their ceremony ? http://www.ultimatebeachweddings.com/cocoabeachweddings.html I know they do a lot in Destin, panama City,Pensacola,Gulf Shores area.I also seen them in Miami,Fort Lauderdale.

Try the hOtels… they have their own services. That’s what we did.

DESTINATION WEDDINGS

A number of folks on the debsdrtravels discussion boards apparently got married at the Melia Caribe in Punta Cana. It sounds as if they were very happy with their choice.

If you go to this board
( http://debsdrtravels.proboards47.com/index.cgi?board=wedding&action=print&thread=1148664668 ) you can read some of their accounts. If you are not Canadian then some of what they discuss won’t apply, but all of their comments about how things worked will still be valid.

One woman just got married there in April 2007 and said: "Hola to all future brides I just came back from getting married at the Melia Caribe and WOW. The people there were incredible and I still have chills. It was the most amazing day of my life, I was nervous and I cried alot but again WOW. I had a small party and decided on having a private dinner outside and that was the best thing we did. If you need any information e-mail me and I will send you everything I have Sadies9902@aol.com."

Her screen name is newyorker2007. You could possibly email her and say you got her contact from the board and simply ask her.

One of the sites they mention actually has some great wedding photos posted at the URL below:

They make it all sound very inexpensive compared to US weddings and very beautiful.

Thai lunch, brought music is played Activities until dinner on the beach is your / their choice, but the socks should probably cut the groom (Jutland tradition) and the bridal waltz is played. BBQ dinner on the beach. Wedding cake is served. Hot air balloons sent drift in the sky as a symbol of good luck. The night will be spending in a simple but romantic bungalow or tents.
