A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Lihue, United States by TravelPod blogger Jboden titled “Day 4 Maui to Kauai”

Jboden’s travel blog entry:

“I woke up at 6:00 and went to the gym at the Grand Wailea. It was probably the nicest gym that I have used at a hotel and which they didn’t charge extra. I wasn’t sure what type of facility that they would have at our next hotel so I worked out all muscles.

Dave East was staying at his parents’ condo in Kihei so we met up with him for breakfast at Spice’s in Kihei. It was good to see him as it had been a long time. He told us about his new girlfriend from Russia and we told him about the wedding weekend and everyone else engaged right now. Afterwards, we checked out their condo and the tidepools in front of it.

That was our last day in Maui so took a very quick flight to the Lihue airport on Kauai. At the same time that the pilot welcomed us aboard, he also announced that we were descending!

The Hilton Beach Resort is where we are staying in Kauai. It was close to the airport and in a central location but not nearly as nice as the Grand Wailea in Maui. We were definitely spoiled there. They have complimentary mai tais and beer so we grabbed a mai tai after checking-in.

From there, we drove about 45 minutes north to H****ei Bay to watch the sunset. I also brought a bottle of champagne and some glasses from our room for us to enjoy as the sun went down behind the horizon. Mariana loved it and said that if we didn’t just get married, she would have thought that I was proposing to her.

After the sun set, we drove back up the hill to have dinner at the H****ei Bay Resort in Princeville. They have nice restaurant there called Bali Hai which also had a great view of the bay.”
