I recently purchased a Teffin filter kit package for a new lens. My daughter is getting married and I needed something quick and inexpensive (weddings will do that to you). The problem is I had a 52 Polarizer (Teffin) laying around the house, from ‘72, and inadvertantly screwed it on the kit UV filter. They are both 52’s. Now I can’t get the Polarizer off. Any suggestions? Should I keep it on and get another UV filter? A kit one? Help!
There is a filter wrench that you can purchase from (or through) most photo suppliers that gives you better leverage to remove filters. Also, try two small, in diameter, as wide as the filters, rubber bands and you should be able to unscrew them … unless they’re cross threaded. If that’s the case you’ll be buying new ones.
